Died September 23rd ,2012 peacefully with his wife and daughters by his side at Astoria Gardens in Tracy CA. Bob was born on Jan. 2,1920 to the late Louise(Baumgartner) and Robert J. Quigley in San Jose, CA. He grew up in Goose Town off of South 1st street and Alma. It was here that he met his sweetheart, Margaret when they were 14. As an adolescent Bob was always hard working, picking prunes and working in the canneries. He enjoyed racing pigeons, playing sports and fishing. He graduated from San Jose High in 1938 and was recruited by Kraft Foods because of his business skills. He continued to work for Kraft as an Accounting Manager in San Francisco for 44 years until his retirement in 1982. Bobs promising career at Kraft was interrupted by his enlistment in the Army in 1942 in the service of his country in WWII. He proudly achieved the rank of Captain and commanded troops in England, France and Germany. Margaret and Bob were married during the war in January 1944. They were married for 68 years .After the war they settled first in San Francisco and moved back to San Jose in 1951. Bob and Margaret were the loving parents of Margie, Robbie and Jill. They raised their children in a secure creative home. Their door was always open to family and friends. They are charter members of Church of the Valley in Santa Clara, CA. In retirement Bob was a member of the Santa Clara County Rose Society where he won many awards for his talents as a Rosarian. Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret, His daughters Margie Mrosla (Duane), Jill Quigley (Chris Douglas) and grandchildren Mandy and Brad Mrosla and Sean and Will Douglas. Additional survivors are nephews Bill and Buzz Anderson and niece Marta Hillis also numerous nephews and nieces in-law. Proceeded in death by his parents, his sister Bernice Anderson and his son Robert Lamar Quigley. Visitation will be on Thursday Sept. 27th 5-9 p.m. at Oak Hill Chapel of the Roses. Memorial Service to be held the following day Friday Sept. 28th at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Hill Chapel of Roses In lieu of flowers the family invites donations in Bob’s memory to the Santa Clara County Rose Society.
