It is with a heavy heart that the family of, Ramon M. Marquez, announces his passing at the age of 84 on Wednesday, March 25th, 2020. He never wavered from his faith, trusted in our Lord, and was received into eternal life peacefully. In honor of our devoted faith it heals our hearts knowing he is with God, our Lord Jesus Christ, and the blessed Virgin Mary in heaven.
He was born in Sonora-Ray, AZ on February 20th, 1936, to Jose A. and Armida Marquez. He graduated from Ray High School class of 1955 and was set to start college when his life took a detour that he would cherish forever. While visiting family in California, he met the love of his life, Mary Helen (Flores), and at that moment they both knew it was love at first sight. Shortly after, they eloped on May 19th, 1956 and renewed their vows by Catholic Church on May 24th, 1957. This was the beginning of a lifetime of love and happiness for the couple and their growing family.
They began their journey in San Jose, CA. where they raised 6 children including, 5 daughters and 1 son. Dad worked for FMC Corporation and received many awards for his ethics, attendance, and years of service. He enjoyed his job and took pride in his work; however, we always knew what mattered most and that was his family. He was a faithful servant of God and shared with his family the importance of faith and values. After 42 years of service with FMC dad retired and shortly after decided to move with mom to Las Vegas where he was able to continue 20 more years of building memories.
The family wishes to express great gratitude to the Doctors, nurses and staff at Summerlin Hospital in Las Vegas, NV, for their generous support and loving care for our father during his stay. God bless you all.
