Tom Lowder passed away at his home in San Jose on May 27, 2016, surrounded by his family. He fought a valiant 8-year battle with cancer and is now free of its grip. He began his career in an optical lab grinding lenses, moving up through the optical field, and retired following 25-years as owner of Peninsula Optical in Palo Alto. Tom is survived by his wife Kathy, and his sons Ryan and Travis. He is also survived by his mother Verna Lowder, sisters Linda Lingo, Karen Stephens and Patricia Harrop, as well as many nieces and nephews across the country. Services will be held on Tuesday June 7, 2016 at Oak Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Tom’s name to St. Jude’s Research Hospital to help end childhood cancer.
