It's your birthday and as usual you have avoided a party. Nonetheless, we have celebrated your precious life with a beautiful memorial in your honor. Many people came to bid their  farewell to you, and in turn they came to pay their respect to the rest of our family. Everyone's kindness and generosity was truly a display of love. I just wish I could talk to you about it. There are so many things I want to share with you, but I know that the way you hear me now is different. Given these circumstances, I will settle for the peaceful existence you have selected. Undoubtedly, you have embarked on a new adventure, a new journey and without pain. I just miss your voice, your good morning calls and all the things we shared. Sadie still loves her Papa and misses you very much. Thank you for being a wonderful brother and best friend. Pete, honestly and sincerely, you were my favorite cousin. Even as children you had that certain quirk that everyone liked about you. I always enjoyed visiting you on Florida St.
I remember one day, my Junior High School, James Lick, was having a graduation ceremony for my class. Fashion was never a big part of my life. I needed a sport coat to borrow. I called you in desperation. You had a sport coat that I could borrow. Well begars can't be choosey. As it turned out, the fit was perfect and it was the coolest sport coat I had ever seen. All of my friends thought I looked super sharp. I wore it with pride.
So many fond memories of you cuz. I'll miss you

Brother Pete...that's how I referred to you whenever we met or when I asked about you. To me you were always my best friend's older brother, but oh so handsome. You were also great with my children...especially Aisha when she was hanging out with Nicole. So sad, but I know you are at rest...will miss you Brother Pete.

Twelve years ago you came into our life. You were not only my husbands boss but you became one of our best friends. At the beginning of our marriage you gave steven a opportunity no one else would. You were always there for him. You guys had such great times together not only at work but at our family bbq's. You were a kind, caring, honest person. It sadens me that you won't be coming to Tennessee for a fishing/camping trip.  You sent us a clock when we moved here everytime I pass it on my living room wall I think of you. I'll never forget the first time we met. There you were, tall, with shining eyes, thick black hair (with a distinguished touch of grey) and your movie-star jawline. I thought ‘dang, my cousin is one handsome man!' You opened your arms to give me the biggest hug, as if we had known each other for decades—as if you always knew it was just a matter of time before I made my way back to the family. Your warmth and generosity of spirit was touching and inspiring. I wish I had known you my entire life.
 
I love you for being such a good nephew to my father. Thank you for comforting him in his final moments. I hope, on this new journey, that you meet up with him and the two of you have a blast. 

Mary and I are so happy to have known you. Our time together may have been brief, but it was bright enough to last a lifetime. Your luminous smile will never fade. The joy you brought to our family reverberates in each generation. Yours is a magnanimous soul Pete, and it lives on.

Then you drove up and laughed, mija I was checking out your beautiful legs...LOL just like loretta's. How I cracked up. Another time when you, and I sat in the backyard and we were talking about relationships. You gave me the best advice 'Find a man that wants to take care of me and the boys. "Cause you know, mija us stupid Alvarados' Love deeply and are faithful" So true. I am very sad you left so soon but your most likely in a better place....Our Family won't be the same without you.....
