Dear Matt,

Although having known you for less than a year as colleagues, I really want to thank you for making such positive impacts in my life through your dedication, sincerity and passions to make the world a better place, one step at a time.

I will always miss you.  See you up there, brother.

Initially, Matt and I shared a typical customer, vendor relationship. Straight forward, courteous and to the point.  But there was nothing typical about Matt. He wanted to understand everything. Every aspect. It was obvious to me that his curiosity combined with his desire for personal growth would ever allow him to stay stationary for too long. People are not promoted by necessity, they are promoted by demand. There are own demand. Such an honor to watch.  As the years progressed our relationship changed from the customer, vendor one, to a private friendship based on respect and trust. 

I will miss you my young friend.  

Matt my brother I don’t know what to say, I’m at a lost for word. You are my oldest friend I’ve know you almost my entire life. We were so close we were like brothers to each other for so long and even after all these years apart we still kept in though. I wish there was more time I was planning to visit you in December now I well never get that chance. My Hart hurts for you and Mom and Dad. I love you my brother and I will see you again some day.  My deepest condolences goes out to Don & Debbie love Mom and Dad . Your Hanai son Tim O.

Here’s to you Matt! This is such a sad story and I feel so sad you had to leave Matt, I did not get to spend much time with Matt but the little bit I did I can tell he was a sweetheart with a beautiful smile. Matt was dating my daughter Shawna at his time of passing and she was with him at his time of tragic accident . With much happiness they were having together ended in such a tragic ending, Matt was happy doing what he enjoyed and with someone he was truly enjoying being with. I am so sorry for Matt and his family and for my daughter it has been a rough journey for her. RIP Matt wish we could have spent more good times. Blessings and prayers to Matt and his family and my daughter Shawna.

Matt, we are in shock to hear of your passing.  We worked together for a year as a supplier to your company, working with you was enjoyed by all.  You showed up very committed to improving process, making sure we could develop solutions which worked best for your project.  Wish we had more time to work with you, you have a special kind of talent for the work you do and the industry you do it in and it truly is a loss to all who had the benefit to work with you.

I was terribly shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Matthew's passing.  Being a work colleague, I've got to know him over this past 2 years on a personal and professional level.  He was a skilled and talented Engineer, who was a pleasure to work alongside.  I'd recently had the opportunity to work closely with him on a project, and was impressed with his experience and professionalism.  This, along with his friendly, easy-going temperament and willingness to share his knowledge, made him an ideal candidate as a mentor.  He leaves a big hole in our organization, and know he'll be sorely missed by all that knew him.

Matt, I’m still in shock. I looked at my calendar and we had a work lunch planned next week. You are such a great guy and friend. Loved our lunches & happy hours low key geeking out talking about tech. I still have your Ketosis diet plan on my phone & voicemails. Can’t explain or make sense of anything right now. I know you have a lot of really good friends & collegues. GOD takes only the best. He opened his arms for you when you were doing what you liked to do. I know you are looking down at us telling us to not cry. The 39 yrs you were here you made an impression on so many. Heavenly hugs to you my friend. You are an amazing man. I am deeply saddened and still in shock.  I have only known Matt 2 years, I am a Mattson co-worker, he was a really nice and funny guy.  Also kind enough to give me some diet tips and healthy eating advice which I really need, I don't know how he did it, boiled chicken, really?  :-) He is going to be greatly missed and I wish his friends and family peace and hopefully in time a smile knowing that he brought joy to many around him.  RIP Dear Matt XOXO

Matt has been one of the most dedicated persons that I have ever met. Every time there was a problem he would jump up and start working on a solution. I will always remember Matt as a kind and sincere human being. My foremost and  sincere condolences go out to he's family. Farewell my friend. 

I am beyond words and still in shock. From my experience socializing with Matt and being one of his co-workers, I came to know Matt was a cool, calm, and funny guy. I can still hear him at work saying one of his favorite words "ABSOLUTELY"! Its so weird not to hear him or see him at work, he will be missed. Until we meet again in heaven my friend..
