I remember Mary’s laugh. It started with her and in minutes everyone within hearing distance was laughing too!!

I am so sorry to hear of Mary’s passing.   She was a beautiful person, with a heart of GOLD and a loving and great sense of humor.  She was one of my first managers at Cisco and she taught me so much.   She had love, integrity, class, leadership,  she was the BEST!

Mary's spirit will live with all who knew her. Having just heard of her passing a couple of days ago, I'm certain that so many friends and family are gathering now to celebrate her life, sharing fond memories each cherishes from the incredible life that Mary created.  I wish I could be there today and know that she is smiling down on everyone.

While I never worked directly for Mary, our paths crossed many times in her years at Cisco and Symantec. Her love of her team and style for allowing each member to build on their strengths meant each knew he/she had her support which made her a beloved leader.  To partner with her and her team was a wonderful experience! I'll especially cherish getting to know her better and sharing conversations of support for our professional ups and downs was so meaningful.  All my love to her family in this very difficult time.  She loved you all so very much!

I met Mary in 1988 at Digital Equipment Corp and had the fortune to hire her at Cisco.  Mary's admirable work ethic, exemplary communication skills, patience and ability to collaborate made her an outstanding colleague.  She was a great role model for our team. 
Mary always opened her home and heart to others as well, so patient and generous. 
I had the pleasure of spending time with her loving family during these years.  
Mary will be missed but parts of her will last forever in our memories and in our hearts.  Her influence and impact will not be forgotten.

I am heartbroken over Mary's passing. She was a former boss, mentor, long standing friend and fellow scleroderma warrior. Over the last few years, we supported each other by exchanging much information related to disease progression, meds, tests, therapies, and more. I often heard from her while she received 3X/weekly dialysis therapy--an arduous burden she shouldered with positivity, humor, and that legendary Mary snark. "Well Leigh, I'm at my favorite kidney spa, once again. What's going on with you, lady?" 

Simply stated, Mary was a joy to behold. Gracious, kind, patient, encouraging, supportive, genuine, witty, nurturing. I could go on and on. She was a firm believer in the adage, "A rising tide raises all boats". Indeed, she worked tirelessly to foster success across her wide sphere of influence. Mary was a true leader.

I will miss her beyond words.  May she rest joyfully. 

Mary was a really great woman who knew how to laugh and be silly but professional and lovely at the same time. We worked together at Cisco and I will always remember her with warmth and fondness. Very sincere sympathies to her family.

Mary (and Mark) all dressed up for a dance when we were in college. Mary's wit kept me laughing through so much. So sorry to hear she has passed, but what a life she lived.

Mary, we miss you and will always admire your spirit. You were always so much fun and positive - and you had the best laugh. I still remember how happy we were to have our Californian cousins with us in the Poconos all those years ago!

Craig and I were so happy to spend time with you during the summer 2019 - we will always remember it. I will also always cherish all your words of wisdom on motherhood and your strength, especially in the last couple months.

Mary Hunter was my dear cousin. I had gotten closer to her during her illness. Mary showed such incredible courage,faith, and perseverance during her debilitating illness. She was always so gracious and happy for me as she was experiencing such challenges. In her life, she experienced so much. She was a successful and  admired businesswoman! Her family was so precious to her. She was blessed with a beautiful personality. Her loss will be deeply felt among her family members and loyal and caring friends. We will miss you, Mary. Mary was a wonderful co-worker and friend.  Her infectious sense of humor made work fun.  But make no mistake about it, she was a hard working professional who got results.  I feel so lucky to have worked with her, learned from her and had the opportunity to call her friend.  She will be missed.  We love you, Mary!

Mary and I worked together at Cisco for a few years. When we met she was preparing for her wedding to the love of her life and couldn't have been happier. Then she had Maddie and she was over the moon. Her joy was infectious and inspiring. She always had a twinkle in her eye and laughter to share. She was kind and caring and a pure soul. My heart is broken. I’m still trying to absorb the fact that you have left us.  You were one of the most graceful, kind hearted humans I had the privilege to call my friend.  
As I think back at the times we spent together I recall every interaction filled with joy, a little mischief and always so much laughter.  Even through all your pain, your love and generosity for your family and friends was always felt.
It really is too early for you to leave us.  You touched many hearts and made this world better with your presence.

My fondest memories growing up was visiting my Shaughnessy cousins in California. Every visit left a wonderful memory. Mary was a special cousin with her sweet smile and her dry sense of humor. Mary’s  love of her family and the fight of her life these past few years showed me what true courage and humility is. Mary always had a positive attitude when we communicated  about her illness and never ever made it about her. She always made a point to ask me about my family and tell me how she loved my mom her aunt Marie (McLinskey).  Her gratitude for each day gave her hope to live for Mark and Maddie. I met Mary 25 years ago when I started at Cisco. She was a wonderful leader and friend. She had such a magnetic personality. Everyone wanted to be around her. She made everyone feel seen and appreciated. She had a wicked sense of humor. We shared many laughs together. In fact, every time I saw her, we were laughing. One perfectly-timed glance in my direction and I'd burst. It's a wonderful thing to be remembered for the joy you brought people. I love you, Mary! May your mom, brother, Mark, Maddy and everyone who loved you feel comforted by many happy memories. I feel grateful and fortunate to have known you. XO

I worked with Mary at Cisco. She was so much more than a manager. She guided me, loved me and brought out the best in me. We stayed in touch after our time at Cisco and I was so blessed to call her a friend. Mary loved with all she had. I know she’s watching over all of us but especially her precious Maddy and Mark. Her face always lit up when talking about either of them.
