Mary Louise Bratcher, age 87, passed away peacefully at her home in San Jose, CA on October 7, 2021 in the presence of her loving family. Mary was born December 11, 1933 in San Francisco, CA. and resided in San Jose since 1961.
A loving mother of two sons, Kenneth Bratcher (Karen) of San Jose, CA and Ronald Bratcher (Danita) of Georgetown, TX; her five grandchildren, Kevin Bratcher (Alison) of San Jose, CA, Nicholas Bratcher (Caroline) of San Francisco, CA, Eric Bratcher (Sarah) of Santa Clara, CA, Ryan Bratcher (Jessica) of Denver, CO, and Lauren Bratcher, Georgetown, TX; as well as her three great grandchildren Madison, Matthew, and Sophia.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband Ocie Ray Bratcher of 48 years and her sister Doris. She is survived by her brother William Luippold (Anita), many cousins, nephews/nieces and lifelong childhood friends.
Mary spent most of her life as a homemaker, taking care of her family and grandchildren, and building family traditions. Mary enjoyed spending time with family and friends most of all, but certainly enjoyed the outdoors as well. Mary enjoyed camping, boating, sightseeing and weekend adventures, long drives, and unplanned stops along the coast with her husband in their motorhome. In recent years, Mary was an avid reader, enjoyed puzzles of all kinds and playing cards, and most of all, family gatherings. Remembrances of Mary are as a loving, friendly, kind hearted person, full of laughter and smiles, who welcomed all into her home.
A visitation for Mary will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 1:30pm to 2:30pm at Oak Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 300 Curtner Avenue San Jose, CA 95125. A funeral service will occur at the Chapel of Roses, at Oak Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park, Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 2:30pm to 3:30pm. A committal service will follow on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 3:30pm to 4:15pm where she will be interned alongside her husband. A celebration of Mary’s life will follow at her home.
