Martha Barragan was born on November 22nd, 1934, and raised in the charming small town of Monte Escobedo Zacatecas, Mexico. She was the daughter of Julian Sanchez and Francisca Valdez and was the sixth of seven siblings. In the year 1955, she married Salvador Barragan and had five daughters, whom she would dedicate her life to. In 1961 she moved with her family to San Jose, California for the first time. She returned to her hometown in Mexico, but permanently settled in San Jose in 1989, where she would live out the rest of her life.
Her husband Salvador Barragan passed away in 1993 making her a widow with five adult daughters. On September 19th, 2021, at the age of 86, Martha passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family. She became the last of the Sanchez family to pass on; ending a beautiful, happy, and hardworking family.
She dedicated her life to her daughters, thirteen grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She was a faithful Catholic, gracious, warm, and charming woman who loved to feed everyone who visited her home. Her personality granted her many friends regardless of age. Her grandchildren adored her and she loved to spoil them. She treated everyone equally and showed respect for everyone. Her greatest wish was the continued unity of her family.
She will be buried alongside her beloved husband Salvador Barragan at Oak Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park.
The Barragan Family will receive family and friends on October 12, 2021.

Martha Barragán nació un 22 de noviembre de 1934 en Monte Escobedo Zacatecas, México. Siendo la sexta de siete hijos de Julián Sánchez y Francisca Valdez. En el año 1955 contrae nupcias con Salvador Barragán procreando cinco hijas, a las cuales dedicaría su vida. En 1961 se muda con su familia a San José, California por primera vez. permaneciendo por un corto periodo de tiempo, regresando a su ciudad natal, posteriormente retorna a San Jose California en 1989 donde se establece permanentemente.
El 19 de Septiembre de 2021, a la edad de 86 años, Martha fallece pacíficamente en su casa, rodeada del amor de su familia. Fue la última de la familia Sánchez Valdez en fallecer, fortaleciendo aún más, con su partida los lazos de una familia unida, feliz y trabajadora.
Ella dedicó su vida a sus hijas, y tuvo la dicha de convivir con sus trece nietos y seis bisnietos. Martha era una fiel católica, amable, cariñosa y amigable, Su personalidad carismática le otorgó muchas amistades sin importar la edad . Trataba a todos por igual y mostraba respeto por todos. El mayor deseo de ella fue la unión de su familia. Ella deja un legado de unión y amor para todos.
Martha será sepultada junto a su esposo Salvador Barragán en Oak Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park.
