Mrs. Maria Guadalupe Cendejas Cortez passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at age 88. A native of San Jose, CA she was born in Purepero, Michoacan, Mexico to Arcadio and Irinea Ordaz on June 26, 1925. Maria married Francisco Cortez in 1956. Together they raised nine children. Maria did seasonal work for the cannery in San Jose, CA. Mrs. Cortez is survived by her children: Jovita Cortez, Yolanda Jaimes, Martin Cortez, Francisca Bauer, Joaquin Cortez, Guadalupe Cortez, Eva Cortez, Adam Cortez and Frankie Cortez along with many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Maria Guadalupe was a strong and powerful woman and she will be greatly missed.
