Manuel Gabriel Pereira

Resident of San Jose, CA

Passed away October 17, 2013 at the age of 93 with his loving family by his side. Loving father of Robert (Bonnie) and Linda Pereira. Beloved grandfather of Michael and Jamie Pereira and Jereme Kuecker. Great Grandfather of Jacob and Elizabeth. Son of the late Manuel and Maria Pereira. Brother in law of Dorie Pereira and the late Joe and Tillie Pereira and Edward Pereira, Emily and Frank Rodrigues, Mary and John Rebeiro. Brother in law of Alvin (Joyce) Fernandez and the late Juanita and Robert Fernandez. Loving uncle and great uncle of numerous nieces and nephews.

Manny was a decorated war hero; receiving bronze & silver stars and good conduct medal, purple heart. He was a restaurateur for 60 years owning Manny's Hyland Inn, El Palomer (Santa Cruz) and Manny's Cellar. He ran the Heineken stand at San Jose Giants for many years. He was a life member of San Jose Elks and Disabled American Veterans.

Visitation Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at 6:30pm followed by Rosary at 7:30pm at Willow Glen Funeral Home 1039 Lincoln Ave San Jose, Mass Thursday October 24, 2013 at 10am at the Five Wounds Portuguese National Church 1375 e Santa Clara St. Interment at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
