Lisa Jo (Starling) Fite was born to Martha (Wooledge) Schultz and David Starling in Fort Whales, Florida on October 29, 1962. Although a Florida native, Lisa and her two older sisters, Kathy Starling and Tina Starling-Dennis, were raised in California by their late mother and their stepfather, Milton Schultz.
Lisa attended Camden High School in Campbell, California, where she met husband Mark Fite. The two began dating at age 16 and were married September 29, 1984. Together they shared a home in San Jose where they raised their two daughters, Karissa and Heather Fite.
Lisa, self-described as “extra-friendly”, did all things with joy in her heart, undoubtedly making people smile and making friends in all her endeavors. She worked for ten years at Old Republic Title Company, where she loved her job, and more so her coworkers. She later found a new career and deeper fulfillment in working with children, first as a yard duty at her daughters’ elementary school, and later as kitchen staff at Santa Teresa Elementary School in San Jose. No matter what work she did outside of the home, Lisa’s true love was being a mother and wife, and she took great pride in her marriage and motherhood. An artistic and hands-on person, Lisa most enjoyed spending time with her family sharing her enthusiasm for craftwork such as jewelry-making, crocheting, sewing clothes for herself and her daughters, cooking, and baking.
Lisa is remembered as a daughter, a sister, a wife, and a mother, but first and foremost, she is remembered for the love that she gave and the lives that she touched. She will be remembered with immense love, and missed tremendously.
Lisa will be laid to rest Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 2pm at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery (Holy Spirit Section), 490 Lincoln St. Santa Clara, CA 95050.
