Kim - Cuc Thi Nguyen

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kim-Cuc Nguyen, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She passed away on September 14, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Vietnam, Kim faced challenges from an early age. Despite being deprived of an education, she was determined to teach herself to read and write. In her youth, she bravely fled war-torn Vietnam by boat, enduring unimaginable hardships. It was at a refugee camp where she met the love of her life, Bao Van Ngo. Together, they began a journey of resilience, building a life in a new country while navigating the many challenges that come with starting over. Her heart now finds peace as she reunites with her beloved husband, Bao, who passed away in 2008.

A woman of unmatched strength, Kim worked tirelessly at physically demanding jobs to support and raise their four children. She taught herself English and, through her perseverance, became a successful entrepreneur. Known for her blunt honesty and no-nonsense attitude, she lived life unapologetically, never concerning herself with the opinions of others.

Kim loved to travel, finding joy in exploring new places and cultures. She also had a deep love for flowers, especially orchids, and indulged in the occasional visit to the slot machines, a rare moment of enjoyment in her otherwise hardworking life.

Kim leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and resilience. She is survived by her three daughters, Mai Ngo (Quang), Hieu-Thao Ngo (late Tommy) and Kim-Phuong Carney (Tom); her son, Quoc Ngo (Lauren); her six grandsons, Andy, Anthony, Aaron, TJ, Tyler, and Liam; her two granddaughters, Olivia and Coco; her brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Though her passing leaves a void in our hearts, we find comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her dear husband, Bao, together again in peace.

Her strength, wisdom, and enduring love will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
