She was born on August 16, 1951 in Binghamton New York to Rodger and Beatrice Finch. She attended Andrew Hill High School in San Jose. Karen retired from Alameda County Family and Children’s Services. Previous to her employment with the County of Alameda. Karen was an entrepreneur and found interest in photo development and travel. She enjoyed the outdoors very much and off-roading in her 1972 Toyota Land-Cruiser that she called “Baby”. Karen’s precious friend Barry Antler introduced her to the many wonders of the world. They traveled Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Prior to the invention of cell phones and email. She would communicate with her closest friends and family via air mail or air grams. Her most beloved place, where her fondest memories were, was in Pakistan.
Karen was also the co-operator of a trekking agency called Mountain Movers. She would explore many rigorous regions during this tenure. She explored the Himalayas, and the Mountains of Tibet.
Karen is survived by her brother Brian Finch, sister in-law Bonnie Finch, nieces; Janet Sanchez, Monica Finch and Pamela Esquivel, her nephew Scott Finch, great nephews: Joshua Garcia, Frankie Sanchez, Joey Sanchez, Clifford Guerra Jr., Marc Guerra and Michael Esquivel, her great nieces: Alexa Hudson, Lena Sanchez and Emily Esquivel. Nephew In-Law’s: Frank Sanchez and Eric Esquivel.
Viewing will be held On Friday, April 1, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and services will commence the same day from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30p.m. at Oak Hill Funeral Home. Located at 300 Curtner Ave, San Jose, CA 95125
Karen was a monumental figure to her family. She displayed throughout her lifetime to be a fearless and selfless individual. Her thoughtfulness for others is a virtue that her family will always remember and admire. She will forever remain in their hearts and will be missed dearly.
