Born on December 8, 1915, in Guangdong Province, China, Chung Ying later emigrated to Taiwan with her beloved late husband Sung Kao in 1949, and then to the United States in 1991 to be closer to her children and grandchildren.
Proving that age is truly just a number, Chung Ying lived independently into her 100s, enjoying hobbies like going to church, mahjong, basketball, tai chi, cooking, meeting new friends, eating, cooking, but above all else, spending time with family.
Chung Ying is survived by her children, Peter Kao, Luke Kao, Ann Shieh, Henry Kao, Alvina Chang, as well as 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
