It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Joseph Matthew Salazar, lovingly known as JoJo, who left us far too soon on October 6, 2024, just days before his 35th birthday. Joseph was born on October 8, 1989, in San Jose, California, to his loving parents Paula Kindrick and Joe Salazar.
JoJo was a man who cherished the simple joys of life—especially spending time outdoors. Whether it was at the beach, by the river, or relaxing at the lake, nature was his sanctuary, where he found peace and made lasting memories with those he loved. Above all, JoJo’s greatest joy and pride in life was being a father to his three children: Josiah, Julien, and Aaliyah. He adored his kids more than anything and was an exceptional father, always striving to give them the best life possible.
He was also passionate about his work as a plumber, a craft he mastered and took great pride in. JoJo’s dedication earned him the respect of many, and he generously shared his knowledge, teaching the trade to one of his younger brothers.
A proud fan of the San Francisco 49ers, JoJo loved attending games, tailgating, and cheering on his favorite team, creating even more cherished memories with his family and friends.
JoJo leaves behind his parents, Paula Kindrick (married to Dee Kindrick) and Joe Salazar (married to Corinne Salazar), who will forever hold his memory close. He is also survived by his fiancée, Ashley Pedregon, the mother of his children.
He will be deeply missed by his children: Josiah, Julien, and Aaliyah Salazar; his siblings: Jonathan Salazar, Jacob Salazar, James Wright, and Stevie Kindrick; and his nephew, Noah Wright. JoJo’s extended family includes his grandparents: Mary Martinez, Gilbert Peralta, Joni Kindrick, Mary Campos, and Joe Salazar.
JoJo is also remembered with love by his aunts and uncles: Michelle Martinez, Tina Kindrick, Jodi and Victor Moreno, Gina Fleming, and Stephanie Fleming. He leaves behind many cousins, friends, and extended family who loved him dearly.
JoJo’s sudden passing has left a hole in the hearts of all who knew him, but his memory will live on through his children, his family, and the countless lives he touched throughout his life.
A celebration of JoJo’s life will be held at The Lima Family Erickson Memorial Chapel on October 25, 2024 at 2:00 PM, and all who loved him are invited to attend.
Rest in peace, JoJo. Your love, laughter, and spirit will be with us always.
