Hi Joe; extremely heartbroken to learn of your passing. I always looked up to you and will always cherish the good ole days when we worked together throughout the City of San Jose. So many memories but lunch times were one of my favorites while I sat with you listening to your words of wisdom after stopping at the little market near Happy Hollow for BBQ chicken and ribs. Condolences to your wife and all the family especially your son Joe Jr. who I also share fond work memories with. We lost one of the best ever but will always hold the memories close to our heart.

I grew up with the Hidalgo's. I remember Cathay Drive.  My dad told many times that Joe Hidalgo was the hardest working man he had ever met. Dad really respected him. I am so sorry for your loss, losing your father is so hard. You are in my prayers.
