Jose Bandal Perez Jr. was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Jose will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
Jose was born on December 22, 1967. He was the son of Jose Perez Sr. and Sonia B. Perez. Jose grew up in Philippines.
Jose was raised with 6 siblings. He had four brothers, Jason, John Philip, Jerold, Joseph, and two sisters, Jennifer and Joanne. Jose was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his siblings. He and his siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.
As a young boy, Jose had a number of interests. Like most children, he enjoyed playing and making up games. He was curious about the world around him and was often eager to explore it. Jose was an active child who took part in basketball. However, to Jose, the most fun to be had was simply playing and spending time with his friends.
Jose enjoyed his college years, which may have been a challenge with all of the academics, responsibilities, and the sudden freedom that accompanied them, but Jose was able to manage the balancing act. He earned his Bachelor of Science in nursing in 2012.
Always considered a “good” friend to those he knew, Jose enjoyed a broad group of acquaintances and several very close friends during his lifetime. While growing up, some of his best friends were Eric, Richard, Michael, Jun, and Ton. Later in life, he had many friends.
On November 4,1990 Jose exchanged wedding vows with Maila Pinlac at Saint Martin of Tours Parish of San Jose, California. Empathic and loyal, Jose was committed to making his new family happy.
Jose worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. Jose was blessed with 3 children, three sons, Jay Matthew, Jasper, and Justin.
Fortunately, Jose enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Jose worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. His primary occupation was in the health field. He was employed for 18 years. Jose always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Jose found pleasure in sports. In high school, Jose played basketball. In his college years, Jose continued to stay active by playing basketball. Recreational sports included basketball, tennis, and hiking. Jose was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed following his favorite events whenever he had the chance to do so. Tops on his list were football, basketball, and tennis.
Jose’s faith was important to him. He was a member Roman Catholic Church. During that time, he was an alter boy when he was young and sang in a choir during Sunday mass.
Jose passed away on March 26, 2013 at San Jose, California. He fought a brave battle against cancer. He is survived by his wife Maila; his children Jay Matthew, Jasper, and Justin; his mother Sonia; his brothers Jason, John Philip, Jerold, Joseph; and his sisters Jennifer and Joanne. Services were held at Our Lady of Peace Church.
Simply stated, Jose was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Jose leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Jose Bandal Perez Jr.
