John is survived and missed by the love of his life, his wife Jennie of 61 years; and his children, Rebecca (JoeRay), Laura “Babygirl”, John Jr., and Michael (Sheilah). He was loved by his 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is cherished by his sisters Carmen and Clara. He will forever be Uncle Baby to his numerous nieces and nephews.
John was hard-working and enjoyed long hauls in his 18-wheeler big rig. He traveled this country and enjoyed seeing different cities. He also loved coming home to his family. Time with his family was a priority for him, but especially later in John's life, spending it with his great-grandchildren. He was giving and always right there when you needed him most.
John was born the youngest of five children to Edward and Faustina (Ortiz) Nuñez on April 5, 1934, and was known as the Baby. He enjoyed being doted on and will always be remembered and missed by his loving family.
John was greeted in heaven by his parents Edward and Faustina, his brother Ed and his sister Nellie as well as other cherished family members.
He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation for John from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, February 20, 2023, with Rosary to be held at 7 p.m. at Lima Family Erickson Memorial Chapel, 710 Willow Street, San Jose. Funeral at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 also at Lima Family Erickson Memorial Chapel. Graveside to follow at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, 490 Lincoln Street, Santa Clara.
