John Salvatore Battaglia, age 71, of San Jose passed away on Thursday January 17, 2019. John was born March 9, 1947.
Known by all as a loving, hard-working family man. He proudly retired after working years in sales and most proudly as a reserve police officer with SJPD. He was a helper. A fixer. A shoulder to lean on. John was always there for anyone and everyone. The most dependable and caring man. Sweet to his core and caring beyond words. He passed unexpectedly on January 17 and has joined his father Salvatore in Heaven. John will be missed especially by his adoring wife Nina and daughter Linda Marie; his mother Dolorez; his brothers Kenneth and Will and sisters Linda, Kathy, Geraldine and Nancy; his soon-to-be son-in-law Matthew as well as many in-laws, nieces and nephews. He resided in San Jose his entire 71 years.
Services will be held at Lima Family Erickson Memorial Chapel. Viewing from 6-7 p.m. followed by Rosary on Wednesday, January 23. Chapel service will be held on Thursday, January 24 at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery.
