Joe Ruiz Martinez

Joe was born Jan. 13, 1938, in Porterville, California, and a resident of San Jose, CA, for 60 years. He worked as a carpenter for 55 years, displaying a wonderful skill for building homes. Joe truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family, and spending time with his nephews and nieces.

He is survived by his wife Eugenia Mednoza Martinez; his children, Julia Ballin, Joey and Paula, Martinez and Laurie Martinez Baja; grandchildren, Michael Anthony Molina, Philip Matthew Solis Jr., Amanda Michelle Verhaege, Robert Joseph Cleveland III, and Kelli Ballin; and brother, Alex Ruiz Martinez.

He is preceded in death by parents, Julia Ruiz and Pedro Macias, Martinez.

The viewing will be held from 9AM-4PM and rosary to follow at 6PM Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018, at Oakhill Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 300 Curtner Ave, San Jose, CA 95125. Mass will be held at 10:00-11:00AM on Wednesday, Jan. 10, at Five Wounds Church, 1375 E. Santa Clara St., San Jose, CA 95116, and reception to follow at 12PM, Los Llagos Golf Course, 2995 Tuers Rd, San Jose, CA 95121.
