Joanne and I have been friends since we were paired together as roommates at USF and this was the first time we both lived away from home. She and I bonded instantly and helped each other get through a difficult first year of school. Joanne was a hard-working, intelligent, caring, and very sweet woman. She was very close to her family and friends and had a lot of people that cared about her.  One of Joanne's best traits was that she always lived her life to the fullest, she loved a good laugh and making people laugh.  

After USF, life had a lot of twists and turns, but no matter where life took us, we remained friends. We communicated almost every day whether it be with life updates, or with memes to get us through the day. Joanne was there to celebrate my wedding day as my bridesmaid and bonded instantly with the wedding party and family, and was considered a part of my family. 

So many great memories of Joanne remain. It makes me smile when I think about the times that we thought our apartment was haunted,  explored San Francisco on our own, discovered our go-to pho and boba place, and the time we treated ourselves to Benihana after a successful first semester. The memories we shared will always bring joy to my heart. I was lucky to have Joanne in my life, even if it was for a short time. 

It is incredibly sad that Joanne's life ended so soon and I cannot put into words how much I will miss her. It was an honor to be her friend, and I will miss our talks and random adventures. But most of all, I will miss our friendship. Thank you for being a part of my life.
