Gloria was born on March 13, 1954 to Manuel and Consuelo Villegas in Juarez, Mexico. While attending San Jose State University, Gloria met her husband of 44 years, James Garcia. Shortly after their marriage and the birth of their son, Gloria and James moved to Stockton, California where they spent 20 years raising their two children, Jimmy and Marisa.
Upon retirement Gloria and James relocated to San Luis Obispo. During her time there, Gloria enjoyed attending Mass at Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa, participating in a sewing group, learning from master food preservation classes and wine tasting in San Luis Obispo County with friends.
Gloria was preceded in death by her mother and father, Manuel and Consuelo Villegas. She is survived by her husband, James, her son Jimmy, her daughter Marisa Ivancic (Garcia), son-in-law Anthony Ivancic, two grandchildren, Luca and Isabella Ivancic and her siblings; Connie Milazzo (Vince), Carmen Villegas Ellis (Lauren), Jane Lyons (Bill), Mary Carrillo (Shorty), Lorenzo Villegas (Sylvia), Manuel Villegas (Cindy), Jose Luis Villegas (Ruth).
Gloria will always be remembered for her kindness toward others and her great listening ability.
