great grandfather and great great grandfather. This obituary is an excellent example of how to
honor a man that was the center of Our Lady of Peace church, and the foundation of his family.
Francisco L. Rom of San Jose, California had passed away on March 29th, 2020 after reaching
the aspiring age of 93. Mr. Rom passed in his home.
Francisco L. Rom was born on January 27th, 1929 in Ormoc, Phillipines, and was the final sibling
laid to rest. Francisco had 1 brother and 2 sisters.
As a very young man Francisco had a job involving the US Embassy in the Phillipines, and was
always heavily involved into the church. Francisco is honored by many churches across the
coast and will forever be a holy man at heart.
On June 11th, 1960 Francisco married the love of his life, Felisa Matuguina at the San Rafael
Catholic Church in Pasay City, Philippines. From then on they went on and began to create
memories that last a lifetime.
Approximately 12 years and 4 days after their marriage in the phillipines, Francisco wrote a
letter to his Counselor Officer at the American Embassy in Manila, Phillipines regarding passage
into the United States.
Francisco was a strong patriarch of his family, a great friend to all, a man who would give his
belongings to someone who needed it. Francisco is also honored by Knights of Columbus,
Sacred Heart, Workers of Saint Joseph and a faithful parishioner at Our Lady of Peace Church and Shrine.
He was a great father and a fantastic grandfather and great grandfather to his family, his
presence was always one to appreciate and his many stories he loved to tell about his past was
always something to be remembered. Francisco was a wise, strong, and a amazing man. He is loved and will be entirely missed by many!
Francisco L Rom was preceded in death by his wife Felisa M. Rom, son Ernesto Rom, daughter
Consolacion Mathis, and son Rudillo Rom. Survived by his son Francisco S. Rom Jr, daughter
NoraFelisa Rom and daughter Cecelia Rom-Garcia. Granchildren: Rudillo, Paula, Francis,
Alexander, Brian, JohnPaul, Laurentino, Robby, Pamela, Felisa, Tammy, Mandy, JohnManuel,
Ricardo, Christopher, Ernesto JR, Amberly, Barbie, Jesus Jr., Alicia and Armando. Great
grandchildren Jamesel, Janine, Ernesto, James, Jamella, JimmieJames, Jamie, Brandon,
Archie, Paul, Joni, Jessilyn, Alexis, Adrian, Halle, Khalid, Dominic, Angelo, Aurora, Xiani, Little
B, Cali,Lianne, Moziah, Rico, Allinah, Corrina, Courtney, Cody, Byron, Samuel, JayJay, Jordan,
Jenesita, Jayce, Anthony, Ella, Jeremiah, Allyana, America, and Sofia. Great great
grandchildren Kalaya and Skylar and by all the future ones to come.
