May the Memory of Florence be a blessing to her family.  When we moved in next door to Fred and Florence  almost 34 years ago Florence was the first neighbor we met.  Florence always had a kind word to say and always shared her Roses with us. Our deepest sympathies to the Lindsey Family .

The history of Cupertino is the better for Florence having been part of it.  What a treasure trove of stories.  The Traveling Trunk will continue to share the legacy of the General Store with the local children.  Florence remembers her childhood in the little house behind the store so fondly. Though I have not seen Florence in 2 years I will never forget her. She was one of my "Melon Court Moms", where I grew up with her sons, Jim and Ken AKA Jimmy and Kenny!After I moved from Melon Ct. I would frequently return home to visit my parents. I would either go over to Florence's home or she would see my car and come over to visit. We would catch up on the block gossip and also talk about what was going on with all the Melon Ct. kids especially, Jimmy and Kenny :).

Florence and her family where a part of this valley's history and she was proud of it.

Ken and Jim and your family, you are in my thoughts and prayers as you deal with the loss of your Mom, Mother-in-law and Grandmother.

I have very fond memories of my Aunt and her family.  Their house was the main gathering spot for the Dixon and Lindsey holiday get-togethers ... especially during the 60's and 70's.  Those family times will be greatly missed.  Special appreciation to cousin Ken for his loving care during his mother's time of need.

Florence was my second mom!  She welcomed me into the family with open arms, and I became the daughter she never had.  Florence was totally and extremely dedicated to all in her family.(I would love to have been friends with her in college!)  Love to you, Mom.  I know you are in the Lord's loving arms now...

Ms. Lindsey,
I only met you once but the impact you had on your family is evident. For your loved ones (especially Ken) to provide you with the selfless compassion, comfort and care in your time of need is a true testament and measure of the respect and love of your family. We should all be so lucky.

We shared some good conversations, albeit not many but at least family histories we each tried to trace.  We shared the connections of wives of brothers who had a reasonably close relationships with each other, altho vastly diverse in each of their occupations. As we each age and each one moves on it is good to look back and appreciate the lives we each have lived.  Rest in peace, Florence the race has run. H. Marie Lindsey

Florence will certainly be missed.  I literally grew up with her. I was at the Lindsey household EVERYDAY for years.  I was included in every meal with out asking, a place to watch TV on the couch or a spot on the floor, (Fred always had the recliner), play pool, and shoot hoops till all hours - it was just a great environment to grow up in.  And Florence created that haven.  When they say, "It takes a village to raise a child."  I am certainly grateful to have been in the same "village" with Florence.   She was every part a parent to me as my own parents.  She truly was a giving and wonderful person. Good bye Florence.

Mom, you will be missed.  I will work to capture the influence you had on those around you.  I will work to create a historical record of what you cared about so it won't just be my memory of what you wanted me to know but a resource for those who didn't have the chance to know you.
