Esther V Acosta

Esther V. Acosta (87) of San Jose, Ca passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023, surrounded in love by her family. She was a beautiful and gracious lady who enjoyed spending time with her ever-growing family and dear friends alike. She loved music, dancing and was an avid reader, who always expressed her love to us and gave it generously. Collectively there are no words to say how dearly she will be missed.

Esther Vallez was born on January 17, 1936, in Esperanza, Texas to parents Santiago and Refugio Vallez, the 2nd born of 10 siblings. Later her family moved to California where she and her belated husband Bobby raised their children in San Jose. She was the beloved matriarch of her Vallez siblings, her adored 6 children, 17 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Survived by her daughter Hope Elliott (Eddie), daughter Julia Chacon, daughter Mary Chacon (Jose), son Edward Acosta (Tammy), daughter Deborah Garcia (George), daughter Anita Acosta, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. As well as, her sisters Mercy Salinas, Connie Carranco (Lupe), Martha Plazola (David “Cheto”), Alice Vallez, her brothers Joe (Norma) Vallez, and Tom Vallez. Preceded by husband Edward “Bobby” Acosta, father Santiago, mother Refugio “Cuca” and sisters Anita, Mary and brother Santiago Jr. “Chago”.

Memorial Services will be on Thursday, December 14, 12:00pm at Oak Hill Cemetery, Chapel of Roses on 300 Curtner Ave, San Jose. Please join us immediately after for her Celebration of Life at the Magic Sands Clubhouse on 165 Blossom Hill Rd, San Jose.
