Ernesto Manamtam Manaois

July 15th, 1949 – November 9th, 2024

Ernesto Manamtam Manaois, age 75, passed away on Saturday November 9th, 2024 at Stanford Hospital surrounded by his family and wife Miraflor Manaois.

Ernesto was born July 15th, 1949 in Dagupan City in Pangasinan, Philippines to Hernando Ferrer Manaois, and Apolonia Manamtam Manaois. In 1972, Ernesto graduated from Polytechnic University of the Philippines.

Ernesto is survived by his children from his previous marriage to Gloria S. Andaya: Michelle Start Manaois Smith, Mariel Ann Manaois Pham, and Jan Vincent Manaois, and his previous marriage to Elvie Occena: Glenn Patrick Manaois, and Mark Allen Manaois, and his stepdaughter from his current marriage to Miraflor Manaois: Debbie Yeap-De Leon. He was a proud father who cherished his family deeply. As a father, Ernesto was loving, selfless, and always ready to support his children in their endeavors. He was the heart and soul of his family, always showing them the importance of love, unity, and togetherness.

Ernesto is also survived by his siblings Merlo Manaois, Hernando Manaois Jr., Fe Celia King, Manuelita Liwanag, Eduardo Manaois, Cynthia Endaya, Alberto Manaois, and Alice Manaois who all shared many cherished memories with him over the years, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who were an important part of his life. He is also survived by his beloved ten grandchildren who were a constant source of joy in his later years.

Ernesto will be fondly remembered for his beautiful voice and his love for karaoke where he often took the spotlight with his favorite song, ‘My Way’ by Frank Sinatra. His passion for singing with his heartfelt performances will be missed by all who had the joy of hearing him. Ernesto believed that some of life’s important moments were best enjoyed over good food and karaoke. Whether preparing his signature dishes or dining with family, his love for food was a way he portrayed his love and affection for those around him.

Though he is no longer with us, Ernesto’s family continue to carry on his values of unwavering love, humility, and kindness, ensuring his memory will live on for generations to come.

A rosary service will occur Monday, December 2, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in Chapel of Rose, 300 Curtner Ave, San Jose, CA 95125. A visitation will occur Tuesday, December 3, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM in Chapel of Roses, 300 Curtner Ave, San Jose, CA 95125. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, December 3, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:45 PM in Chapel of Roses, 300 Curtner Ave, San Jose, CA 95125. A committal service will occur Tuesday, December 3, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 300 Curtner Ave, San Jose, CA 95125.
