With great sadness, we share the passing of our mother, wife, and grandmother lovingly called by many 'Nanang Sion or Auntie Sion' on Sunday, the 17th of October. Encarnacion Locquiao Estantino, 84, of San Jose, CA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones.
Encarnacion was born to the late Pelagio Locquiao and Eduvejes Echanes Locquiao on December 12, 1936 in Manila, Philippines. Encarnacion was the youngest of nine children. Encarnacion attended the University of Santo Thomas Medical School in the Philippines and later pursued her passion for dancing.
Encarnacion married the late Trobador (Troby) Estantino on the 27th of January, 1963, and they lived together in Manila. They later moved to Urdaneta, Pangasinan (Philippines). In 1979, the family moved to Honolulu, HI, and subsequently to San Jose, CA. Encarnacion was employed at Solectron Semiconductor and National Semiconductor. Encarnacion is survived by her three children Troy, Gary (Jonah), and Russel (Joaquin). Encarnacion is also survived by her four grandchildren; Amanda, Jason, Raphael, and Kaden. Encarnacion was immensely proud of her family.
Love of family and God were Encarnacion's guiding principles throughout her life. She attended weekly mass, and she was a member of the Golden Girls of the Milpitas Dance Group at St John the Baptist Church. Later, she still participated in the daily virtual mass when she could not attend mass in person.
Encarnacion's greatest joy was spending time with her family. She beamed with pride, had a pep in her step and an eternal loving glow in her eyes at family gatherings. Encarnacion was loving, kind, patient, and generous in many ways; she was a friendly face to everyone she met. Her lovingness extended beyond family; she was most welcoming to all.
She would talk to everyone and carry on a conversation for hours on end, even if she had just met you.
Encarnacion loved fashion and had many hobbies, including dancing, gardening, and crocheting. She was a lifetime member of the Urdanetanian Association in San Jose, CA. She and her beloved Troby attended many gatherings with family and friends, including the annual dance party. Encarnacion, adorned with matching jewelry and floral dresses often tailored by Troby, always brightened a room. Encarnacion loved to crochet for loved ones, and she was gifted with a green thumb and grew the most beautiful orchids and succulents in her backyard. Encarnacion lived a wonderful, beautiful life filled with love. She had a zest for life and leaves behind a lifetime of beautiful memories.
