Dear David,

We miss your contagious smile, sense of humor and deep knowledge of world history. I can talk to you about anything.  It is always a joyful experience meeting you and the family. It was a wonderful opportunity working with you at Cisco and I will never forget our journey together. I treasured your story of daring and brave escape from Communist Vietnam to freedom in America. Your story of success in America is a model for many of us to admire and a tribute to many hard working immigrants who do the best for their families. You are my hero.
We love and cherish our families vacations together in Hawaii, Cancun, MX, Cozumel MX, and many friend and family reunions in California. We were shocked to find out of your passing, and couldn't believe you were gone. 
I lost a dear friend, a colleague and a mentor who taught me a few things in life.  RIP my friend.

Duy my friend, it is Nghiem.  I cried when I hear about your passing. It was not that long ago when we were at U.W. together studying and sharing fun times in the Computer Science department.   You always came up with jokes to make us laugh at the times when we needed them most.  We had many good nights playing poker after finals at your house in Shoreline.  You were always the leader of the group and helped guided us in the right direction.  Wherever you are my friend, I want to let you know that you left us with many good memories of how much a good friend you were to all of us at U.W.  To Duy's family, please accept my sincere condolences for your loss.

I first met David in 2003 on a sales call at Genentech for which David was the Cisco System Engineer supporting this account. Our friendship grew overtime and I found David very knowledgeable in many topics, including technology, social, and politics. He came across as a quiet and humble person. I missed talking to him greatly.
