David Perez Fierro, age 76 of New Mexico, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 18th, 2023 went to heaven to be with his savior Jesus Christ. In his long battle of heart conditions, he now is at peace and free of pain. In his final evening hours, he was never alone as he was surrounded by his wife and family at his side as he tranquilly left us. He was a loving and caring, son, father, husband, grandfather, and great-grandfather which will be dearly missed.
As a young boy, he had lived on farm in which he learned various farm work like, how to pick cotton, milk a cow, ride a horse, and even drive a tractor. He was influenced by his dad and learned how to be responsible, to have honor, respect and to be proud of the work you did. Over the years, David moved to California and began his education at San Jose City College and graduated in 1972. Shortly after graduation, in 1975 he had accepted a job with the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s department as a Deputy Sheriff Officer working in the courts, patrol, managing the correctional facilities, and was the 1st classification training officer to make our jail system safe. He had achieved many certifications throughout his years, making him Senior Deputy Sheriff in his field. David then retired from Santa Clara County in 1995, devoting over 20 years of his hard work and dedication keeping inmates inline. He was very well respected by his peers and people within his field.
David enjoyed his best life with his family and friends, sharing great stories and always had ‘thoughts’ about life. During his free time, he enjoyed reading over 360 + books about History, Horses, and the Bible. He even began a ‘thoughts’ blog about life, quote: “Without Christ, I am nothing, he has sustained me, guides me, teaches me, feeds me, makes me to understand, makes me reflect and calms me, teaches me to forgive, to ask for forgiveness, not to lie and above all to love him and all others. Now I ask you what more could you possibly want?" –written by David. He also enjoyed his last years traveling with his wife to the wine country, New Mexico, Arizona and spending endless nights singing songs by Antonio Aguilar till late hours. He loved making everyone laugh, smile, play poker and made sure his grandkids knew how to play so, they too can learn to enjoy like him.
Thank you for being a part of David’s beautiful life and hope you will join us in his celebration of life in sharing those most memorable moments with us. David has touched so many lives and we thank you for being a devoted friend. He will be dearly missed, and his love will remain in all our hearts forever.
