With the deepest sorrow we announce that Christopher Everett Bristol, age 33, our most beloved son, husband, brother, grandson, family member and friend passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 2, 2021, while in the hospital with a soldier’s fight. Christopher touched the lives of so many with his contagious love for life. This did not come to an end with his passing, those left behind will carry on what he has taught. Christopher passed peacefully surrounded by his loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest, full of laughter and love.
Those who knew Christopher, even just a little bit, have lost a shining star in their lives.
Christopher will be missed everyday by his wife Kelley, son Rey, his father Ronald Bristol, mother Manette, sisters Nicole, Jaymie, and Brittney, his brothers Alex and Andrew, grandparents, uncles, aunts, and many, many great friends. Chris was loved by many.
We know that Christopher is with his grandfather Ronald Fenner and Grandmother Phyllis Bristol. He is loved in Heaven as much as he is loved on earth.
Chris joined the United States Coast Guard right after high school. His parents knew this would always be his path. He was active with his church Ranger program growing up and ROTC all through high school. He loved his country and wanted to serve. He was trained as a machinery technician in the USCG and received an award for Most Inspirational when graduating from boot camp. He truly was the most inspirational man we have ever known.
In high school he bought his first ‘fixer upper’ as soon as he could drive. He spent countless hours tinkering with his Bronco. It was very clear that he would always love this kind of work and he certainly did. He spent the next 11 years repairing everything from locomotives to electric buses, his favorite was always the diesel engine.
Chris was larger than life. His towering height made him impossible to not see coming and his even larger personality drew everyone in. His big smile, witty jokes, teddy bear hugs, and the perfect amount of sarcasm always made him the family favorite at every event. He made sure that no matter what was happening there was love, a big hug, and a beautiful smile to light up the room.
Chris was the oldest of six children. From a little boy he always took this role very serious. He loved his siblings more than anything. Chris was always a shoulder to lean on for his siblings. He was, and always will be, their warrior and protector no matter where life takes them.
Chris married the love of his life in 2017. He was honored to not only be a husband, but also a father to little Rey. He was a dedicated, loving father and husband. His greatest joy was being a dad. He spent countless hours with his little man, laughing, reading, going to the family cabin, and passing onto him the same witty humor and terrible dance moves that his wife fell in love with. He will be dearly missed by his young son and wife.
The LORD replied “My precious, precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you”.
We will forever miss your laughter, your smile, your love. Now & Forever, Amen.
Chris was being treated at the VA Palo Alto. Their team treated him with so much love, respect, and honor during his time there. We are forever grateful for each one of the doctors and nurses involved in his care.
