Carol grew up in Wisconsin and married her loving husband, George Vogel, at age 19. They traveled and moved frequently with the Air Force service and later IBM. They ultimately settled in San Jose, CA and later retired in Sonora, CA. Carol worked as a stenographer and in jewelry and other retail, but considered her most important career to be taking care of their four children.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, George Edward Vogel (1931 - 1996), daughter, Christine Anne (Vogel) Fields (1953 - 1975), and son, Bruce Edward Vogel (1956 - 2001). She is survived by daughter, Linda (Vogel) Ettl of Gilroy CA, son Thomas A. Vogel of Morgan Hill CA, and 6 grandchildren—Leo Wallis, Kelly (Ettl) Haggerty, Sarah Vogel, Amanda (Vogel) Lamcke, Julia Vogel, and Avery Vogel.
Carol loved her family above everything else. She was an avid reader of mysteries, the history of England and all things English Royal. She adamantly worked on daily crossword and word search puzzles. Carol loved to travel and visited 22 different countries, with England being her favorite by far. She visited the country at least 8 times.
A small, private family service will take place at Gate of Heaven in Los Altos, CA.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of the Valley (San Jose), or the American Heart Association and American Cancer Society.
