Charles (Chuck) Edwin Burgeson, age 81, of El Cajon, California passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2023. Charles was born on November 14, 1941 in Rochester, Minnesota to Eva and Elgar Burgeson. He attended Redlands High School in the late 50’s and graduated from Cal State San Luis Obispo in the early 60’s. Chuck grew up in the family business, where he worked for over 15 years before taking on a new challenge in the passion he loved so much, the engineering and architectural field specializing in large commercial construction trade projects. Chuck never stopped working, never retired, and even enjoyed solving problems on projects for friends after he slowed down in his older years. He loved telling jokes and listening to them. He loved the game of pool and once travelled with Fats Domino. He was very proud of his own family and the family business his parents started that is now 74 years old. He enjoyed watching sports and had a passion for auto racing, drag racing, horse racing and golf. Chuck also loved the San Diego area. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
Charles is survived by his wife, MaryLou Burgeson, his son Brian Burgeson (Brian Burkitt), and his son Kevin Burgeson (Dana Burgeson), his sister Dianne Burgeson, his grandsons Tyler and Chase Burgeson, his caretaker and friend Teri Blew, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Charles was preceded in death by his daughter Cynthia Burgeson, his father Elgar Burgeson and mother Eva Burgeson, his brother Ronald Burgeson, and his sister Janet Burgeson.
A graveside service for Charles will be held Friday, August 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Hillside Memorial Park, 1540 Alessandro Rd., Redlands, CA 92373.
