I met Vince Polito as part of his crew back in the 90's, working for Pacific Bell. He was a great supervisor and I really learned a lot from him.  His style was a bit gruff and salty language was his way of letting you know where you stood with him.  Many people misunderstood Vince, but to me , he was the best boss I had at Pacific Bell and I had a few million bosses at that company spanning 36 years of service.  He helped you learn the job an you always knew where you ranked with him.  My partner Larry Steele worked the late shift for Vinny and before he would go home he would always say goodnight.  If there was a cable damage tht occured on our shift and there were many because of the ongoing Metro Rail Project in Los Angeles .  He would always come out to check on us no  matter how late it was at night and he would always bring us food and supplies to get the job done.  I'm going to miss him because of the indelible mark he left on my career at Pac Bell.  R.I.P.  my friend you are remembred.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Vince's unexpected passing.  My heart aches for his family because Vince was larger than life, and losing him leaves a huge part missing during the rest of our days.  I was very blessed to have known Vince for nearly 32 years.  I can't tell you how much joy he brought me when I saw him.  There was always much laughter and a lightness of being with Vince.  We shared our joys and our struggles.  He was a rock with such a tender and loving spirit.  May the God he had great faith in, comfort his loved ones and give them peace at this difficult time and always.
