Olga Martin Edo was a Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend. She was born in El Paso, Texas, on July 5th, 1932 to Ismael and Hortencia Martin. She moved to California as an infant and lived in the Los Angeles County since that first move. She attended Garfield High School in East Los Angeles and Cal State LA where she received her Bachelor’s Degree and Teaching Credential. She taught Kindergarten and Preschool for more than 30 years in El Sereno and East Los Angeles. Olga married Joe Tenorio Edo on June 23rd, 1956. Together they were married for over 50 years and had 3 sons: Joseph, Stephen, and David. She loved her sons very much, as well as her grandchildren: Alex and Cristina. Olga also loved her sister Amy and they shared a very special bond, which included numerous phone calls and trips to Palm Springs. Olga loved singing and dancing, traveling to Spain, eating, celebrating, and being with family and friends. Chocolate was her favorite food and her favorite color was blue. She loved music, played the violin, and especially loved listening to Julio Iglesias. She is now doing all of the above in heaven. Olga passed away on September 7th after a long history of Dementia and Alzheimer's. She will be remembered with everlasting love and will be forever in our hearts.
A funeral service for Olga will be held Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Pierce Brothers Turner & Stevens Mortuary, 1136 East Las Tunas Drive, San Gabriel, CA 91776. Following the funeral service will be a graveside service from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 966 Potrero Grande Dr, Rosemead, CA 91770.
