Maria De La Torre

Maria Encarnacion Venegas was born to Rufino and Ventura Venegas in Jerez, Zacatecas, Mexico, on March 25, 1915. She came to California at the age of 2 with her family and grew up in El Monte where she attended El Monte High School. She had one brother, Manuel Venegas. She was married to Max De La Torre on August 23, 1942. She had four daughters, ten grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Max, in 1974. She lived her faith all her life and had a great devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe. Family was always foremost in her life. She was a friendly, loving, kind and giving person who was involved in community affairs and active in Club Amistad of Monterey Park and Club Zapopan of Rosemead. She passed away at her apartment in La Verne the evening of March 20, 2012. She was visited by many loving friends and family. She was ready to be with the Lord and to be reunited with the many loved ones who were waiting for her in Heaven. Memories of her love are treasures we will carry with us always.
