Beloved mother and wife, interior designer, antique importer, and political activist, Margaret Jadden Cies (Peggy) passed away at her home in Pasadena on the 10th of April, ten days shy of her 96th birthday. Margaret was born on April 21, 1920 in Cincinnati, Ohio and attended Sewickley Academy in Pennsylvania, Connecticut College, and graduated from Stanford University. Her career in San Francisco and Pittsburgh in the fashion business was interrupted by William H. Cies, a young executive with U.S. Steel. They married in 1942 and moved to California after World War II, residing in San Marino and Pasadena where they raised their three children. The energy and devotion to her family, her creative endeavors, her Christian faith and Constitutional causes cannot be articulated short of a five hundred page biography. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends. Margaret is survived by her daughter and two sons, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She is resting in peace with the Lord her God.
