Dearest Idalia, my memories of you start when Carlitos began dating you - so many years ago...It's so hard to condense my thoughts of you and what you have meant to me, a cousin by marriage, but a sister of the soul. You leave me with many heart-warming memories and a true friendship I will cherish the rest of my life.
The biggest gift you leave behind is the imprint Eric and Loretta carry with them, in their DNA: that being the pure love of a nurturing and caring mother. That LOVE will be in their hearts forever and will keep you alive just as long.
The LOVE you gave Carlitos was unconditional, and now, after being apart, you are sharing in the joy of being together as Perfect Beings.  
I'll always remember your hearty laugh as you thought your husband told the best jokes on earth - at least you convinced him so. :-)  You were his true fan!
You have been unique and beautiful, inside and out: straightforward, uncompromising, clear-thinking, a dedicated and loving person.  You leave a chasm in our hearts.  I, myself, as a sister of the soul will miss you deeply.

I am glad that I knew you and will always remember you Idalia for your beauty, your warm smile, sense of humor and dedication to your family. I have such great memories of you and Carlos and my mom and dad all dancing together, while my sisters, Eric and Loretta and myself, played hide and seek outside. And oh, the camping memories.
