Yok Jun Wong, 91 of San Francisco passed away on July 7, 2012. She was born on November 30, 1920 in Tangshan City, Hebei province, China. Devoted wife of the late Micky Kwong and mother of Henry Wong and Howard Wong; step-mother of Carmen Kwong; mother-in-law of Debbie Wong, Regina Wong and Laisum Fung; grandmother of Sabrina Wong, Beverly Wong, Gwendolyn Yu, Theresa Wong and Timothy Wong. In China, Yok Jun served as a nurse working in hospitals and later served as a teacher. Following her husband, she was the 1st of 8 sisters to immigrate to the United States. She worked as a seamstress until she was able to start her own factory. She taught her children and grandchildren the importance of family values, the pursuit of education and to be happy in life.
