Walter "Pat" Harrington

1937 – 2016

Walter Patrick Harrington, a native of San Francisco, was known to family and friends as "Pat". Passed away peacefully on April 8, 2016 in his home with his daughters and loving caregivers at his bedside after a long and valiant battle with cancer at age 78.

Son to the late Walter Henry Harrington and Angie Marie Harrington. Loving father to his two daughters Jennifer Harrington (Michael Nann) and Caroline Harrington (Joe Machado) and devoted grandfather to his granddaughters Luca Nann and Danielle Machado. Survived by his sister Janice Tumminia and loving nieces and a nephew.

Pat lived in the Marina for the majority of his life. He attended St. Vincent de Paul, St. Ignatius High School and University of San Francisco. He was a loyal hometown sports fan, an avid reader and a passionate conversationalist on the subjects of politics and history (but not limited to). For many years he could be found holding court at his local corner store with a cup of coffee in hand ready to discuss the latest topics with the locals and passerbys. He fondly referred to it as his "Office". We will miss you. "Andato ma mai dimenticata. Baci e abbracci. Riposare a papa di pace."

Funeral mass will be held Friday, April 22 at 9:15 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Church. Green & Steiner Sts., SF. Private Internment
