Scott Paul Bradley

Scott Paul Bradley, or Doc Bradley as many friends and patients knew him, was born in Berkeley, California to Gloria and Paul Bradley.

Scott grew up in San Anselmo and graduated from Drake High School in 1971. While at Drake, Scott played the banjo in a folk band and was an Olympic swimming hopeful in the backstroke. Upon graduation, Scott entered U.C. Berkeley on a rowing scholarship and later joined the university rugby team and the SAE fraternity house. Scott eventually transferred to USC where he studied Marine Biology and became a popular member of the SAE Gamma chapter. “Otha” will be forever cherished by his USC brothers.

Scott earned his medical degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara School of Medicine and completed his residency at Ralph K. Davies and Parnassus hospitals in San Francisco. Doc Bradley was a dedicated physician who cared for patients in Groveland, Stockton, and the San Francisco Bay Area over the span of his career.

Scott was deeply loved and will always be remembered for his grand storytelling, warmth and generosity, sharp Poker skills, love of music, and lifelong friendships. He felt completely at home in the ocean and was an avid surfer at Bolinas and Santa Cruz in his youth. Scott was also particularly proud of his dad’s WWII service on the USS San Francisco and faithfully attended Memorial Day ceremonies every year at Land’s End.

Scott had a special way of making people feel at ease with his humor and optimism. “Go big or go home!” was Scott’s motto for living life. Above all, Scott was a man with a heart of gold who enjoyed nothing more than spending time by the pool with family in Watsonville, relaxing with his buddies at the Bay View Boat Club, or sailing Hobbes on the bay with his beloved wife Kate, family, and friends.

Scott was preceded in death by his brother Kennon and his wife Kate Lee Bradley (neé Henrichsen). He is survived by his children Luke, Campbell, and Johanna Bradley; daughters-in-law Alexandra and Emily; granddaughters Pearl and Vena who called him Dr. Grandpa, and baby Elsie Lou; parents-in-law Don and Diana; sister-in-law Jill (Ron); brother-in-law Paul (Sylvia); nieces Claire (Doug), Savannah, Gloria, and Rebecca Juliet; nephew Johan (Michelle); and sisters Rebecca and Laura.
