Michael Lawrence Connell

Michael passed away on the morning of Sept 7th after a long bout with cancer. He had wonderful caregivers and help from the family and so was able to die peacefully at home, which was his wish. Though death is a struggle for body and mind, he benefited from reading and discussions about death in many traditions. His view was that after we die, we all go to the same place but our experience there depends on how we lived our lives. He led a good life with kindness and generosity to all he encountered. From his career as a labor attorney to care for his family, he worked in service of others. He had a dream before he died that Lilian was standing next to an open door awaiting him. Now he has gone to join her.

A visitation for Michael will be held Friday, September 15, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Green Street Mortuary, 649 Green Street, San Francisco, CA 94133. A funeral liturgy will occur Friday, September 15, 2023 at 6:00 PM, 649 Green Street, San Francisco, CA 94133. A committal service will occur Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1100 El Camino Real, Colma, California 94014.
