Margaret Ann Finley

At peace in the Lord on November 26, 2024. Predeceased by her cherished husband, James Everett, Jr.; adored mother of Jean Guthrie (Stephen), Margaret Twomey (Brian) and Eileen Crouse (Steven); proud and loving grandma to Meghan and Jamie (Guthrie), Shannon and Adelaide (Twomey), Robert and Maxwell (Crouse); dearly beloved twin sister of Carolyn Landgrebe (Jack); revered aunt of Carolyn Holsapple and John Landgrebe, Sherry Mathis and the late Barry Mathis.

A member of West Portal Lutheran Church since its inception in the 1940s, Margaret devoted her adulthood to the Christian education of young students and served many roles up to and including Principal of West Portal Lutheran School. Further extending her stewardship by serving as Administrator of Hope Lutheran Day School in Daly City (while also engaged as Asst. Principal at WPL) gave her much joy. She also especially enjoyed her time as Athletic Director for WPLS, and in recognition of her leadership, the Church and School dedicated the School gym, Finley Court, to Margaret and Jim in 2019.

In her earlier years, she was active in many organizations including Golden Gate Chapter OES #1, Job’s Daughters, CYO Hall of Fame, and others.

Visitation will be held from 5-7PM Friday, December 6 at Green Street Mortuary, 649 Green Street (valet parking). The Funeral Service will be held at 10AM, Saturday, December 7 at West Portal Lutheran Church, 200 Sloat Blvd, with Reception held at Finley Court immediately following. Private interment.
