On Wednesday, August 19, 2020, Kimberly Anne Gray, loving daughter, sister, and friend to all, passed away suddenly at the age of 26. Kimberly was born on January 7, 1994, in Poughkeepsie, New York to Glenn and Ivana Gray. She graduated from Pine Bush Central High School in 2012 and was pursuing a degree in nursing while working full-time as a bartender at Wipeout Bar & Grill at the time of her death.
Kimberly, known by family and friends as Kim, had a way of making everyone feel loved and appreciated. Her kind, genuine, and hilarious spirit shined through everything she did. Kim accepted you for who you were and loved you because of it. Then she would say or do something funny to make sure you were happy.
Kim loved her dog Joffrey like he was her son. She often referred to him as her child, would introduce her sister as Aunt Danielle, and her parents as Grandma and Grandpa when talking to Joffrey. The two were inseparable and many umbilical cord jokes were made.
Although Kim lived in San Francisco for only 18 months, she quickly became a fixture in the community. Many could find her celebrating her friends’ accomplishments at Red Jack Saloon or walking her dog Joffrey on any given day. The community knew Kim and Joffrey, and their presence brought joy.
Kim was also well known for her love of music. She frequented concerts all over the country and was always singing lyrics. Her taste in music reflected her personality: eclectic, wide-reaching, pure, and current.
No amount words or descriptions can ever sum up what it meant to know and love Kim. To those who had the opportunity to love and spend time with her, we all know how special she was and how deeply missed she is.
Kim is survived by her sister, Danielle Gray; mother, Ivana Gray; father, Glenn Gray; dog/son Joffrey; cousins Rosanna, Marina, and Lorenzo Babore; grandmother Ada Babore; aunt Kathy and uncle Cosimo Babore; and aunt Luisa Woodworth. Kim was preceded in death by her grandmother June Gray; grandfather William Gray; grandfather Ermando Babore; and great-grandmother Luisa Sarraiocco.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 31, 2020, at the San Francisco Columbarium and Funeral Home. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the service is by invitation only. There will also be a live stream of the funeral service for those who cannot attend. For information and updates, please join the private Facebook group: In Loving Memory of Kimberly Anne Gray.
