Condolences
Steve, I know I'm just finding out recently about your lossI give my deepest condolences to you and your family during this rough time. Healing from this will be a long process, but my prayers are with you and your brother and the rest of your family. Be well brother.

It's hard to lose your mom. She was the rock of the family. Be comforted that she is now in the company of God and Christ. 
Like I was telling you, I probably knew her before I knew you. With money earned from my part time job in high school, I bought Kswiss from that nice lady's shoe store on Kearny. Your friends are your extended family. We will always be here for each other.

I knew Jean and Jim from Athletes' Corner days on Kearney. I continued to work with Jeff and Steve for a number of years. I enjoyed my time and activities with the Wong family. I am sorry for your loss.

We are sorry for the loss of your mom. We're glad that she knew the Lord who gives hope for a new life at home since he was raised to be with the Father and to prepare a room for her. May you find comfort in seeing her again rejoicing in a much better place where the streets are made of gold and to be with the one for whom we were created to find eternal satisfaction.

Live, Laugh, Love. Jean showed me how. She lived her life, loved her hubby, James, raised her rambunctious boys, Jeff and Steve with so much spirit and love that I wondered where that wellspring was and I wanted to tap it. Her reward was two more rambunctious boys...grandsons, Devon and Liam. Not only did she take care of her own family, she took care of her parents and siblings and their families even as WE aged and ALWAYS cooked for us all whenever we got together. We always craved to be near her and sample her 'experiments' as she called her cooking. Her presence on earth will be missed, but we know we be together again. I will never tire of recounting the wonderful times we have shared, and the things she taught me.

From my family to yours my thoughts and prayers to Steve and the Wong family, may GOD bless you guys in this time.

My prayers are with you all. The sadness of the passing of a dear loved one like Jean is matched only by the amazing grace that God gives to comfort those who belong to Him. May His mercy and peace surpass your understanding as you rejoice at Jean's home-going to be with her Savior. No doubt she will be planning a great reunion in heaven with all of you who are blessed to have enjoyed her love on this earth.

My thoughts go out to Steve and the entire Wong and extended family. To share with Jean the similarity of growing up in Saskatchewan and thus being introduced to her son Steve has been a blessing all it's own for myself and my career.

HOLA, Steve from Madrid, Espana, where I flew yesterday after attending/speaking 
at the annual Int'l Wine Lawyer's Conference in VIenna, Austria. I am sooooooooooo sorry to hear about the passing of your WONDERFUL, SWEET Mom, 
and ask that you convey the Carrol Family's deepest sympathies to Jeff and your 
entire GREAT Family at this difficult moment. Your Mom (and Dad) were 2 of the 
nicest people I have had the pleasure of knowing during my now-36 years in town 
and I will never, ever forget how they (and you and Jeff) embraced a young 
lawyer working at his first firm in a strange town and made me feel so welcome! 
Of course, our friendship has blossomed over the years, including the time we 
were "neighbors" on 18th Avenue and we owe it all to your WONDERFUL parents. I 
especially will miss seeing your Mom in Safeway buying everything she needed for 
a huge feast at your house and then pushing her cart all the way home to 
prepare it, getting her exercise along the way;) I return to SF next Monday, 
10/28, and will try and hook up with you after that. In the meantime, don't
