We were sad to learn of the passing of Helen.  She was such a wonderful parent and so proud of Cassandra.  I will always remember the good times and laughter we had.  Helen was always very generous and showered Cassandra’s classmates each year with her thoughtful and fun goodie bags.  She never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone.  Helen will truly be missed.

Dear Cassandra and Family,

We returned from traveling and were extremely saddened to hear the news about Helen this evening.  We consider ourselves fortunate to have had her as our neighbor all these years. She was so kind to us the moment we met her and moved in. She was always generous and thoughtful with our children as she watched them grow over the years. Helen and I worked together at the CPUC for about 5 years when she led the Appellate Section.  She always supported her team and was meticulous in ensuring that decisions were improved on rehearing and well defended in any court challenge.  The CPUC was rarely overturned on appeal while she led the Appellate Section.  The only case I can recall is one which the CPUC lost on procedural grounds but won on jurisdiction such that the General Counsel of the appealing utility asked if I would agree to have this opinion expunged from the appellate court decisions for the CPUC.  I am truly grateful for the time we had working together.
We also enjoyed baseball games in both SF and Oakland as well as the iconic Cliff House  in SF and lesser known Brozeit Lokal in Oakland.  My condolences to Cassandra, Michael, their extended family and friends.  Helen will be missed by many of us.  Her memory is a blessing to all.


Dear Cassandra,
I am deeply saddened to read of your mother's passing.  We shared some great times together--including your trips to Merced.  Helen was a woman of integrity, compassion, and courage.  She was accomplished and successful in all her endeavors with an intelligence that could not be measured.  You were her pride and joy.  We shared her happiness at the time of your birth.  I was delighted for her and you when she shared your accomplishments as you grew and matured.

My sister lived a life of integrity and on her own terms. I mourn her passing.

A lovey woman who was wonderful to work with. She was quick as a whip, and had a significant presence with a quiet voice. She was dedicated professionally to law, and she knew her craft well. May her soul rest in peace.
