Ralph graduated from San Fernando High School and enlisted in the United States Air National Guard in 1948. He served actively in the Air National Guard and the US Air Force for a total of 35 years. He retired in 1983 as a Senior Master Sergeant and Flight Engineer. He enjoyed his career as a Flight Engineer and flew many cargo missions with the 146th Air Lift Wing. In retirement Ralph worked for Big A Auto Parts stores and Cylinder Head Company. He and his wife Hazel enjoyed travel and service in the Elks Club and American Legion. Ralph and Hazel were married for 68 years. He is survived by his wife Hazel, Daughters Susan Adams (Mike Adams) and Cindy Emeterio (Bob Emeterio), Grandchildren Kelly Crow (Tom Crow), Joshua Emeterio (Heidi Emeterio) and Russell Emeterio (Jody Emeterio) and Great Grandchildren Christopher Crow, Alex Crow, Cameran Emeterio, Sage Emeterio, Chanel Emeterio, Reese Emeterio, Layton Emeterio. As well as many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Ralph are being directed by Funeraria Del Angel J.T. Oswald in San Fernando, California. A viewing will take place at the mortuary chapel on Tuesday October 8, 2013 from 4-8:00 p.m. with prayers at 6:00 p.m. the same evening. A funeral service will take place at the Mission Rey Chapel in Mission Hills, California at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday October 9, 2013 with a burial to follow at the San Fernando Mission Cemetery where Ralph will be placed to rest. Military honors will be present to play Taps and present the family with a United States Flag for the service that Ralph gave to this country while in the US Air force. Ralph T. Lemus will be missed by all his family and friends he leaves behind whom loved him very much.
