Wilma (Sissy) Worley was called home by her Lord and Savior on March 15, 2019. Born January 17, 1933 in Lucy, Tennessee, the fifth of eight children of David and Lulu Belle Wilson. She had three older brothers, one older sister and three younger sisters. Sissy grew up in the Memphis area, graduating from Nicolas Blackwell (Bartlett) High School. She met the love of her life, Terry Worley, in Memphis on a blind date while Terry was stationed in Memphis with the Navy. They married in 1951 while Terry was on emergency leave from the Navy. Together, they had four children, Dennis, Phillip, Donna, and Kathy.
Mom loved reading, so that is what we did in our house. This led to a love of education, resulting in all of her children earning college degrees. Mom loved children and worked for six years to earn her Library Science degree which led to her dream job as an Elementary School Librarian. She was a member of three Baptist churches in her lifetime and served in many positions, but her passion was for children's ministry. She taught two year olds for close to 20 years and then held the babies for many years. She believed it was never too early to learn about Jesus. Mom also loved Christian missions. She prayed for, gave to, and participated in missions.
Mom loved God, her family and friends. She is survived by a brother, Edd and a sister Beverly. She also is survived by her four children: Dennis (Linda), Phil (Carla), Donna (Craig), and Kathy. Grandchildren: Kevin (Danielle), Keith (Nicole), Kyle (Lindsey), Jessica, Rachel, Michelle, Gabrielle. Great-grandchildren: Parker, Cooper, Hadley, Beckett, Bodhi.
