William Eugene Harshman

.William (Bill) Eugene Harshman, Sr. left this world on Memorial Day 2013. He was born in San Diego on April 7, 1925 and lived in San Diego the majority of his life. Bill was proud to serve his country in the U.S. Navy as an Aviation Cadet during World War II. At the end of his service, he attended University of the Pacific and San Diego State University culminating with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He enjoyed a successful 32-year career as a Civil Engineer with the City of Chula Vista. Many activities brought joy to Bill including his family, fishing, aviation history, and tending his orchard. His memory will live on forever with wife of 66 years, Carol, his children Susan Brenner, Carolyn Harshman, Bill Harshman, Jr., and his grandchildren Michael Brenner, April Brenner, Tim Harshman, and Megan Harshman. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to Bill's favorite organization, the San Diego Air and Space Museum. Donations should be earmarked "Bill Harshman memorial" and can be mailed to the Museum or sent via their website. An honor guard memorial will be conducted at Ft.
