Trevor Michael York

It is with very heavy hearts that we announce that Trevor Michael York went to be with Our Lord and Savior on December 4th, 2019. During his 24 years on earth, Trevor impacted countless people through the genuine love, concern and compassion he showed them so readily. He was quick to greet new people with a loving hug and a laugh and had a particular concern for anyone who felt lonely, distressed or needed a kind word of encouragement. He gave generously of his time and wisdom to many young adults who were suffering from depression, anxiety, alcoholism or drug addiction—and would stay up all night for anyone who reached out to him in despair. Trevor fought for lasting sobriety three times, and he had finally achieved more than a year-and-a-half of sober living, when he yielded to the disease again. He will always be remembered as a loving son, brother and friend, an artistic and gentle soul, a sly wit, and an incredibly big-hearted young man. We will cherish his warmth and honor his important legacy always.

Trevor completed two years at the University of California, Santa Cruz and was looking forward to completing his education in Los Angeles. He loved music with a great passion and worked to produce music with his many musically talented friends. He was a percussionist in Canyon Crest Academy’s prestigious Music Conservatory program (2011-2014), where he graduated in 2014. He graduated from Saint James Academy in Solana Beach in 2010.

Trevor is survived by his parents Michael and Kimberly York (Rancho Santa Fe, California), his sister Tessa York (Rancho Santa Fe, California), his Uncle Paul Lankford and his wife and daughters (Alamo, California), his Uncle Kevin and his wife and daughter (Beaverton, Oregon), his Aunt Jacqueline and her husband and children (Warrensburg, Missouri), his Uncle John Morin (West Hollywood, California) and his grandparents, Nestor and Iris Morin (Young Harris, Georgia) and Jon and Ruth York (Apple Valley, California), and, his girlfriend, Caroline Nicole Spielman (West Hollywood, California).

The mass of Christian burial for Trevor will be held at Saint James Catholic Church at 625 South Nardo Avenue in Solana Beach, California on December 14th, 2019 at 1:00 PM. All are welcome to attend. Monsignor Duncanson will officiate. Please also join us on the 14th from 4:30-6:30 PM, at our home at 4610 El Nido, Rancho Santa Fe, for refreshments and to share memories of Trevor Michael.

All donations will be used to offset the cost of care for a young adult who is receiving treatment for alcohol or drug addiction.
