Todd Davis Morgan, 63, of San Marcos died Tuesday, September 28, 2021.
His Celebration of Life service will be held from 4 - 8 p.m. on Sunday, November 7th at The Dana on Mission Bay. Family, friends and colleagues are welcome to gather, toast and share stories.
Born March 4, 1958, in Houston, TX, to Rodney and Janet Morgan, Todd was the middle of five boys. He graduated in 1982 from San Diego State University and served as a SD County lifeguard while attending.
Dr. Morgan obtained his title at Washington University’s School of Dental Medicine in 1985. He established his life’s practice as many patients’ favorite Encinitas dentist for 36 years, creating many a “NEWGRIN.” Most notably, he was a diplomate, expert and leader within the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine for 25 years. The “Snore Doc” will forever be known as a pioneer in the field and spoke internationally on the subject.
His greatest joy, however, was the love of his life of 22 years, Barbi (Hespel) Morgan, and his four children, Blake (34), Drew (23), Grace (13) and Rhys (10). He adored each of them and was so proud of his family. He will be remembered as affectionate with a relentless wit and humor, demonstrated by his bright, beautiful smile. Boating with the family was their favorite pastime together.
He is survived by four brothers, Mike of Dallas, TX, Bill of Garland, TX, James of Vancouver, WA, and Paul of Fort Worth, TX, cousin, Lisa Nava, of Encinitas, CA, and many other cousins, nieces and nephews.
An excellent dog trainer, novice trombonist, Doobie Brothers aficionado, and devoted Charger fan, he was very loved and left an imprint of kindness on every person he met. We will miss you, our sweet, valuable Todd.
